Relay and radio links

A microwave link or radio relay link is a device for transmitting a typically digital signal at high speed over distances of hundreds of meters to tens of kilometers using a typically narrowly directed beam of low-power radio waves in the 1-80 GHz bands.

Relay links (Radio relay links)

Technology:
Uses a narrowly directed, low-power beam of radio waves in the 1-80 GHz bands, according to Wikipedia.

Uses:
Radio links are commonly used for high-speed data transmission, for example to link networks within a city or between buildings.

Radio links

Definitions:
Radio links cover a wider range of technologies and distances. They can range from short ranges for wireless networks to long distances for mobile communications.

Private Radio Networks (PMR):
These networks are used for voice and data communications, often in the form of trunked networks with control channel and voice/data channels.

Uses of PMR:
PMR networks are used for dispatching systems, vehicle tracking, communications within organizations, and other applications that require reliable and secure communications.

Application Examples:
Public transportation tracking systems, dispatch-vehicle communications, maintenance systems, and more.

FD NET:
This is a radio network standard that is optimized for communications in DP (transportation enterprises), and that allows for the transmission of status messages and voice.
